Clayton is a WW II Iwo Jima and Tarawa Marine. Marine Susie Schmidt arranged and presented him a giant birthday cookie and hand crafted Marine Veteran plaque at the January 25th detachment meeting. Commandant Ken DeBoer presented a Certificate of Recognition. Clayton addressed the detachment and expressed his gratitude for recognizing his birthday and proudly announced that his 92 old wife and he have been married for 70 years. Detachment members sang a happy birthday wish and congratulated Clayton.
